A superb feast for the senses." "Upscale and beautifully elegant." "Unlike anything else in town." The accolades keep coming for London's most-talked about dining experience, Blue Ginger. Since it's opening in May 1998, Blue Ginger has drawn rave reviews from a discriminating clientele that is revelling in the culinary and visual delights found at 644 Richmond Street.
For co-owners Mitch and Sonny Steinberg, it affirms their long-held belief that the community was ready for something exciting, dramatic and different. Months of research and renovation culminated in an elegant, architecturally disciplined decor that is rivalled only by the spectacular food presentation. The cross-cultural menu is a fusion of grille and Asian-inspired cuisine, with each meal at Blue Ginger an event to be celebrated and remembered.
From their extensive travels throughout Asia and Europe, the Steinberg's brought together favorite elements into Blue Ginger, their first foray as restaurateurs. Already well-known in London from their previous careers as high-end fashion retailers, their sense of style permeates throughout the two-story building. All mocha-grey, brushed steel and white linen, the lines and colours are clean and cool. Attention to detail is evident throughout, from the fresh flowers to the chairs, which were specially designed by Mitch to be roomy and accommodating Elegant and refined, upstairs the ceiling seems to stretch forever upward, anchored by a well-stocked bar, warmed by a three-sided fireplace, and accented by glass doors that open on the busy street below.
